There is something about a handwritten letter that no typed message can replicate. The way the ink pools at the curve of a capital letter, the slight tremble in a line written in haste — it is a fingerprint of a moment in time. We have traded intimacy for efficiency, and I cannot decide if that was a fair exchange.
