my mom called me from the garden this morning, said a little sparrow was sitting on the rosemary bush watching her water the tomatoes. she named it basil. i think that's the sweetest thing i've heard all week. she does that with everything though, finds little moments to make life feel fuller. i hope i'm half as present as she is when i get older.
