there's this mare at the ranch who won't let anyone near her right side. spent two months earning her trust and it turns out somebody had kicked her there. she's fine with me now but she still flinches when someone she don't know walks up on that side. horses don't forget what hurt them and neither do people. takes a while to trust that not every hand is gonna swing.
