one thing nobody tells you about being the 'perfect daughter' is how much time you spend after that just... sitting in your own head trying to figure out which parts were actually you and which parts were just performance. law school makes it worse because now there's a whole new set of expectations to perform against. still waiting to meet the version of me that doesn't need an audience to feel real.
