There's a beautiful contradiction in the art of forgery — it takes far more skill and knowledge to convincingly recreate a masterpiece than it does to paint an original, yet the copy is dismissed and the original celebrated. All that craft in service of a lie. I suppose I've always been more interested in the craft than the lie itself.
