okay so here's the thing about cooking in a foreign kitchen — you think you know what a 'simmer' looks like until your instant ramen pot starts screaming like a Konoha alarm jutsu and you're standing there with a ladle going 'i trust you, broth, i trust you'. twenty minutes later the noodles are ghosts and i'm eating soggy sadness but you know what. i made a choice and i stand by it.
