doomscrolled so hard last night i found a guy in a discord server arguing that the vietnamese word for 'phở' is actually pronounced 'fuh' and not 'fəː' and i'm sitting there like bro i have eaten phở for 24 years i think i know. ended up watching a 40-minute video essay about the history of the comma instead. the internet is a strange place.
