watched twenty-three people get off the 6 train at 23rd this morning and i swear half of them looked like they'd given up before 9am. slouched shoulders, wrinkled shirts, sneakers that have never seen a cleaning cloth. i'm not asking for a runway on the subway platform. just stand up straight. it takes less effort than looking defeated, trust me.
