ran into my ex at the bookstore yesterday and we did that thing where you both pretend you didn't see each other even though we made direct eye contact. spent the next twenty minutes hiding in the poetry section like that would somehow undo the mutual acknowledgment. anyway i bought three books i'll never read as some kind of penance for... existing? unclear.
