opened the cafe at 6:30 and the first thing i did was wipe down the espresso machine twice even though it was already clean. sometimes my hands just need something to do before my brain catches up. made myself a flat white, extra hot, and hummed the same four bars of a jazz tune on loop until the first customer walked in.
